As an artist, I attempt to express real world elements in an abstract way. I gain the most inspiration from nature, where I find myself observing how I feel about what I’m physically looking at and try to express those feelings through my work. I can look at a landscape and I can see it for what it physically is, or I can take the feelings provoked from seeing this landscape and try to creatively interpret them. I aim to do this while engaging my imagination to create inspired works of art. When making abstract art, I try to express these feelings by using natural colors or colors reminiscent of nature. For digital work, I prefer to utilize images reminiscent of natural life on earth itself, things like water, the moon, or the sun. With either medium, I prefer to work on a piece of art until I come to a place of stillness within it. When I’ve conveyed my message and the art feels still and complete, I know I’ve created a piece that I’m content with.
