When I create abstract art, I’m mostly inspired by nature. I use acrylic paints and pigments on canvas to create colorful, abstract landscapes. I consider these pieces science experiments, because creating them involves mixing multiple mediums together and creating diverse, and sometimes unforeseen outcomes.
Creating digital art to me feels boundless because I find myself inspired by all the endless creative opportunities that a digital landscape provides. I draw inspiration from similar places as my abstract work, but sometimes need to narrow my focus to create one cohesive piece. I find that any idea that comes to life on a digital canvas is never a walk in the park to execute.
My spray paint work consists of spray paint on canvas, mostly inspired by abstract geometric patterns and graffiti from the 80s and 90s. I’m fascinated by the graffiti phenomenon in New York City during that time period and when creating these pieces, try to embody that ‘hungry artist’ spirit that consumed artists of that era.
